Waking up at 4am daily… Thanks ICC

24 Feb '11

The Cricket World Cup is well on it’s way. I’ve watched every match so far. Yeah, I’m up at 4am, watch it till about 8am and head off to work.

Watching cricket in India, is almost a religious experience in India, especially Bombay, the home of some of the most prolific cricketers around and my home. Cricket is played by kids on the streets in most parts of the country… except West Bengal, Goa and Kerala where it’s all about football.

Here are some kids playing the game in rural India, on a street with a tennis ball. They’ve used bricks as the wickets and marked the crease on the street with the width marked off by a couple of rocks. Simple and effective.

Waiting at JFK

02 Oct '08

Eve and I wait at JFK for our flight to Bombay. She’s strapped to her carseat so she can’t escape. Ah the joys of parenthood!
